Rossini on travel is a wide ranging musical project that the Giochino Rossini Philharmonic developed together with Donato Renzetti, one of the major international Rossini interpreter – it aims at introducing to a broader audience the compositions of the swan from Pesaro.
Music is alternated by the words of the actor Antonio Oliveri who is in charge of telling the origin of Rossini’s scores by reading the original letters provided by Fondazione Rossini in Pesaro.
The programme of the concert, following the project’s spirit, comprehends two orchestra suite composed by Britten which are based on Rossini themes but reinvented in a smart and eclectic way.
Giochino Rossini Philharmonic was born in Pesaro in 2014 upon the idea of Michele Antonelli and boasts the commitment of talented international musicians.
Since 2015 Donato Renzetti is the art director; among the most prestigious performances we may list the following venues: Royal Albert Hall of London with Juan Diego Florez, Sala Verdi of the conservatory in Milan, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Rossini Opera Festival, Scuola Grande di San Rocco in Venice and the Teatro Olimpico in Rome
